Chotto Matte

Chotto Matte is a Japanese Restaurant and Bar that serves a wide variety of high balls, which is a combination of ice, whiskey and soda/soda water, and sakes of different flavors found at Net Park.

It’s a great place to hang out with co-workers after work to relax because the ambience is conducive to talking. You can hear music blasting from the nearby clubs like Aracama, but it’s far enough for you to drink your cocktails with relative peace.

The food is mid-priced and you can eat comfortably for under Php300, which is pretty standard in the BGC area. My teammates Pao and Marco from Product Management (Capability & Strategy Planning) treated me to drinks here as a sort of mini-celebration for finishing my 3 month stint with them.

The Happy Hour is Buy 1 Take 1 Drinks from 5-7PM. You can choose from 3 types of cocktails (Chotto Hee To, Fukuoka in Bloom & Sakura Smile) or 2 types of Highballs (Andres & Black).  I recommend the Highballs because you can’t find those very often in the BGC Happy Hour circuit.

They normally serve the buy 1 take 1 drinks in one batch. They put ice in only one of the two, and give you an ice bucket for you to put your own ice for when you want to begin your next drink. This is so the ice doesn’t dilute the taste of the drink before you get around to drinking it.

This is the only place that I know that serves highballs and the ones they serve are pretty good for the price Their selection for happy hour is affordable enough to make it a go-to chill bar for a different kind of drinking selection that goes beyond regular cocktails and local beers.
