Building the Dream
“Sino ba sila?”
Any start up that’s trying to do something new will always have it’s fair share of disbelievers and for good reason. Start ups are designed to disrupt industries that have stood that test of time. Anyone trying to do something different will always run the risk of failure, an exceptionally high rate at that, and it’s anyone’s guess if it will work out or not.
There are so many reasons how things can go wrong — the wrong team, the market isn’t ready, the product isn’t good enough, the marketing was sub-par, etc. We knew that we would have a lot of doubts thrown at us, a lot of eyebrows raised at who these kids who don’t align among the bustling theater groups of Manila, didn’t study in famous schools for the arts — an engineer and designer with backgrounds in management consulting and marketing.
Trust me, there were many times we were turned away because of our perceived inexperience. But the reason we carried on is that the dream that we’re trying to follow is so important to us that we’d rather the risk of everything going wrong for that once chance to get it right.
We have a dream of creating remarkable experiences, multi-sensory, multimedia and highly whimsical spaces that remind people the feeling of wonder that we often lose in the act of growing up and the hustle & bustle of every day life.
These kind of experiences have inspired us, engaged us and have made us people who still find the exceptional in the ordinary. We have searched for these same experiences all over the world and now we feel so strongly about creating more of them in places closer to home.
After a year long journey of trying to get off the ground, we’re finally ready to let people know who we are. We know that by finally putting ourselves out there, we’ll get our fair share of doubters, and we ourselves know that we have a lot to learn.
If there are those who doubt what we can do, I invite them to teach us what they can so we can make the world we’re trying to build, better. We’re not the kind of people who are afraid to ask for help and receive it when it’s given. At the end of the day, if there are more lives touched by the art we create, we all win.
It’s been an uphill battle for us but we’re grateful for those first few believers who have stepped up and supported us so far. Opening our first production in a prime Megaworld property is a dream, and we’re looking forward to building the adventure and bringing everyone along for the ride.
