Special Science Scholar
After bouncing across several primary schools in my early years of education, I eventually entered Philippine Science High School, the top research-oriented and specialised public high school system in the Philippines under the Department of Science and Technology. I was a special science scholar that was trained in college level math and sciences.
During this time, I was an active volunteer missionary that traveled up mountains and islands to give my time to the developing rural areas across the Philippines.
University Life at Ateneo
When I initially entered Ateneo de Manila University as Management Engineering student, I eventually shifted to Bachelor of Fine Arts Information Design, where I learned a lot about Information Architecture, User Experience and Design.
For my thesis, I created Ayuda Pilipinas, an online volunteering platform where people can selectively filter local volunteer opportunities and was selected to be fully-funded by the School of Humanities student council.
For two years, I was a varsity pistol shooter for the Ateneo Rifle Pistol Team ….
and the Co-President for 180 Degrees Consulting which at the time was the Philippine’s largest student consultancy that catered to non-profits, social enterprises and NGOs. I would both work to acquire clients, recruit student consultants from the Philippine’s top universities, and match them by needs and skills.
I had my first art exhibit in New York and participated in the International Art Forum 2013. I went to a couple of other great conferences abroad like the East Coast Asian American Student Union (ECAASU) Conference 2014 and was the Philippine Conference Ambassador to the Harvard Project for Asian & International Relations (HPAIR) Conference in 2014.
I also did my internships for non-profits such as Alterfin in Brussels, Belgium and the World Youth Alliance Asia Pacific branch in Manila and their headquarters in New York, USA.
In my free time, I was also a freelance graphic designer and performed frequently through improv theater and as a one time stage actress as “Matt” in the Southeast Asian premier of Matt & Ben.
As part of my desire to be a lifelong learner, I also hold several certifications from management to psychological first aid. My experience living and working with a diverse group of people definitely helped my career in a telco, as freelancer and eventually entrepreneur.
